Everyone who attended the concert on 24 March given by young musicians from the Centre for Young Musicians Taunton (CYMT) and Taunton Preparatory School agreed that was was a lovely occasion.
The fifteen performers were introduced by Rachael Parvin, Head of the CYMT, and accompanied by Frances Webb on piano. The varied programme ranged from classical pieces by Handel, Vivaldi, Haydn, Schubert and others, through arrangements of show-tunes, such as from Salad Days, Annie, Beauty and the Beast and Fiddler on the Roof, to a striking rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody.
Violin, piano, flute, clarinet, oboe and bassoon were played with supreme confidence and several pieces for solo voice filled the church.
Here is is picture of most of the young musicians taken at the end of the concert.
